This flag was designed by Sarah Rudolph Bradley Dodson, a native of Kentucky in September 1835 and made at Harrisburg for a company of volunteers who were to fight against the Mexicans. It was first displayed at Gonzalez and later during the Siege of San Antonio. It was the first tri color "Lone Star" flag that flew as Texas Independence was declared in March 1836.
